The D.R.E.A.M. (Developing, Restoring, Enabling, Advancing Many) Foundation was founded by Dr. DeCosta
Headley Sr. Dr. Headley was a longstanding leader in East New York and Brownsville communities in Brooklyn, NY. For more
than 16 years, he held the position of District Leader of the 40th Assembly District in New York.

Leona Williams a quiet and humble person was an active member of the Lenox Road Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New
York. She also served as District Leader, State Committee Person in the 43 rd Assembly District, Republican party for Kings
County. As District Leader she served as one of the unsung heroes of the time.

An alumnus of Medgar Evers College, Deborah worked at Medgar Evers College for over 30 years in
many capacities from Executive Assistant of the ESL/ESD Program, to her retirement position after 17 years as
the Director of the Career Management Services Center.

Our Mission
The Community Council for Medgar Evers College, Inc. is dedicated to fulfilling its mission by actively engaging in the following endeavors:
- Advisory Role: We serve as a trusted advisory body to the College President and administration. By offering valuable insights and perspectives, we contribute to the continuous improvement and development of Medgar Evers College.
- Presidential Search and Selection: We actively participate in the search and selection process for the College President. By ensuring a thorough and inclusive process, we aim to appoint visionary leaders who will guide the college towards excellence.
- Community Support: We wholeheartedly support the College's programs and activities. By fostering a strong relationship between the College and the community, we strive to enhance the overall college experience for students and promote a positive impact on the local community.
- Advocacy: We actively lobby and advocate in the best interest of Medgar Evers College. Through strategic efforts, we aim to secure necessary resources and support for the college's growth and success.
- Fundraising for Student Scholarships: We organize engaging fundraising events with the primary goal of generating financial support for student scholarships. By providing much-needed financial assistance, we empower students to pursue their academic goals and dreams.
- Sponsorship of Community Forums, Lectures, and Conferences: We sponsor various community forums, enlightening lectures, and insightful conferences. These events provide a platform for intellectual exchange, learning, and community collaboration.
